You're invited to the CMS Builders Club Talent Show! This event is Friday, March 14th from 6:00 - 8:00pm in the CMS Cafeteria. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds go to community needs. See you there!


CMS 8th grade students of the month for February are Lyta Culbert and Chase Hanes. Lyta and Chase consistently demonstrate the three R's by being Respectful, Responsible, and Reliable. Congratulations!


CMS students worked on creating a family flag and crest in our new family time groups this week! Family time focuses on building relationships, fostering self-confidence, encouraging collaboration, developing social skills, and forming a sense of community with students who are in different grade levels.

CMS students in Science Olympiad woke up bright and early to compete against 12 other schools in a Science Olympiad event on Saturday, February 22nd, at Missouri S&T. They have worked very hard since the beginning of the school year in class and after school. Students competed in various events, some of which consisted of long tests. The following students placed in their events:
Jaci Sanders and Prudence Dotson- 1st place in Write It/Do it
Eliza Ledbetter and Wyatt Littrell- 2nd place in Microbe Mission
Clint Fancher and Trevon Townzen- 3rd place in Scrambler
Anemone Hart and Willow Kampschroeder- 4th place in Potions & Poisons
Ayden Mabe and Trevon Townzen- 5th place in Metric Mastery
Jaci Sanders and Prudence Dotson are advancing to state which will be held in April! Mrs. Mabe and Ms. Kohler are extremely proud of all of these students for their hard work and dedication!

These four Cuba Middle School teachers braved the cold and winter weather to attend the annual Write to Learn Conference in Columbia, MO. They each are excited to bring back many new innovative tools to share with the school to enhance student learning and advance students to the next level of academic success.


The CMS Girls Basketball Team received a certificate Friday for participating in a food program called "Missouri Crunch Off" through University of Missouri with Tammy Zuzack.


CMS students with perfect attendance in our first semester were rewarded with a special lunch trip. A HUGE thank you to Jimmy and all of the staff at Frisco's for treating our students! They all had a wonderful time and a fantastic meal!


CMS 8th grade students of the month for January are Payton Rhoades and Layten Eikermann. Payton and Layten consistently demonstrate the three R's by being Respectful, Responsible, and Reliable. Congratulations!

The 6th grade January Students of the month are: Gracie Oregel and Gage Baker!
Gracie may seem quiet and shy at first, but after some time, she reveals that she possesses a silly, fun-loving personality. Her tendency to constantly showcase the three Rs—respect, responsibility, and reliability—makes her an easy choice for Student of the Month.
Gage is a vibrant character and dependable worker who was extra impressive this month. He follows all classroom rules and is always willing to help, making him a valuable asset to our learning environment.


This week Ms. Bailey’s 5th grade Science classes learned about the apparent brightness of the Sun from each planet in our solar system.






Lexi Simpson and Mason Craig were selected as 5th grade students of the month for January. Lexi and Mason are both hard workers who try their best daily. They have their work completed on time and are always willing to help others.


Congrats Kamryn on being selected as the 7th Grade December Student of the Month!

Allison Williams and Christian De Anda Padilla were the 6th grade December students of the month!
Allison is an extremely hard worker who consistently keeps up with all of her work and responsibilities - even asking for extra to challenge herself. She has a calm demeanor and is kind to everyone. Her teachers love having her as a student!
Christian is like sunshine in a bottle! His enthusiastic, positive attitude is contagious to be around, so he has many friends. He is also a very diligent worker who is never behind on work or responsibilities, and he is always ready for a good time!



Before Christmas, CMS delivered ornaments, cards, wreaths, and large snowflakes to area nursing homes.
